How to Create a Half-Up Ponytail
Are you still not convinced? Keep reading to see just how easy it is to create this IG-ready half-up ponytail:
1. Detangle.
Start by detangling your hair by gently combing through your strands with a hairbrush. Start at the bottom and slowly work your way up to your roots. This will give you the freedom to work quickly and style your strands in no time. Once you’ve detangled, smooth your strands and tame frizz with some Bed Head by TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream.
2. Section your hair.
Once your hair is detangled and ready to style, use clips to section off the top portion of your hair. This will make it easier to work section by section
3. Curl your hair.
Grab a curling iron and start curling sections of your hair. Wrap each 1-inch strand around the barrel and hold for 20-30 seconds. Let the curl fall and keep working your way around your head. Once you finish the bottom section, let the top down and curl those sections, too
4. Set your curls.
Once all your hair has been curled, mist your hair with Bed Head by TIGI Masterpiece Shine Hairspray. This will make sure your curls hold up for the rest of the styling process and beyond!
5. Gather your hair.
Gather your hair up into a half-up ponytail. You can do this by sectioning off the top of your hair and using your fingers to comb through your hair until you have a smooth finish. Use a hair tie to secure the half ponytail.
6. Wrap your hair.
Take a 1-inch section of hair from the base of the half ponytail and wrap it around the hair tie. Use a bobby pin to secure the piece into the base of the ponytail.
7. Finish off!
Finish off the look with another mist of hairspray! That’s all there is to create a half ponytail style! It’s so easy to do but it looks like it took major skills and time–what could be better? Happy styling!
